“This country’s system of incarceration is one steeped in a societal proclivity for punishment, revenge, and profit, rather than for true rehabilitation and justice. While one president might be perceived as responsible for increasing levels of immigrant detainment and another as accountable for rising numbers of deportations, such a broken system can never be a truly positive force under any leadership.”
